» Your ball is in what the Rules call "temporary water." You may play your ball as it lies or take free relief. You take free relief by finding the nearest point of complete relief where you are clear of the puddle and then drop your original ball away from the puddle and within one club-length of that point, not nearer the hole. You may also take relief from a puddle of water if your ball is in a bunker.

» It's been proven that the brain can't learn unless you are challenging it with random tasks. Showing up to the range and hitting your driver for hours on end won't do much to improve your golf game. This is exactly why practice games are so effective. They simulate real pressure that you will feel on the course and encourage you to practise like you play.

» Always try and work on your posture and alignment, as maintaining good posture throughout your swing is an important ingredient for the making of good shots. Tilt your upper body slightly forward from the hips, maintaining a straight spine angle. Use your core for stability and control throughout your swing. Avoid slouching or arching your back excessively, as this can affect your swing mechanics and lead to inconsistent ball striking.

» Let's face it, practising in Thailand's heat is not the most pleasurable of activities. Therefore, a little bit of thought needs to be implemented into the task of fine tuning or refining a new movement. Psychologically we must approach making a movement change, over a certain amount of time, with the realisation that there will be a measurable number of strange looking shots before improvement can be seen.

» When faced with a downhill lie, straighten your downhill leg and flex a little the uphill leg to level the hips. Play the ball back towards your right foot. Sole your club on the ground and square the clubface, whilst aiming to the right to compensate for the inevitable natural flight movement of the ball flying left.
