» Your recent report on the haze in northern Thailand says that 90% of the thousands of hot spots were started by people, but figure should be 100%. Places like Australia and California have wild fires. Tropical countries do not. Why doesn't Malaysia have them? Or tropical Northern Australia, even? And if 90% were caused by arson, which in Australia means up to 20 years in jail if they cause death and destruction, how many people are now in Thai jails convicted of arson?

Seasteads threat real

» Re: "Navy probes threat posed by seasteads", (BP, April 20). Thai authorities are right to be concerned about the establishment of so-called "seasteads" near the country's territorial waters. There is a definite risk that if "seasteaders" are successful in establishing adverse possession of territory adjacent to Thai territory, they could threaten Thai sovereignty.

» The current impasse with Thai politics in selecting a prime minister might never be resolved due to the problems with the rules as stipulated in the 2017 charter. Obviously, the rules were inadequate because there is no readily available solution.
