» I am sorry that Wason thinks I have fallen for a conservative ploy regarding Thailand becoming a republic. Far from it. Perhaps I did not make myself clear. My last sentence clearly states that to achieve the protester aims they should stick to reform. That includes the lese majeste law surely. Nothing to do with becoming a republic.

None of them have ever expressed any empathy or disgust about the horrible exploitation of these poor creatures. After all, isn't it the symbol and pride of the national flag since 1820?

» The rap song Prathet Ku Mee by Rap Against Dictatorship has gone viral (BP, Oct 27). It was spurred on with publicity it could only dream of thanks to the adverse reaction to it by the junta and our ever-busy police force. Of course I have not looked at the video on YouTube as I don't wish to get into trouble, but I'm told it is a corny imitation of African-American rap stars, complete with compulsory obscenities and gang-related hand waving.
