General wealthiness

Oped, Postbag, Published on 25/09/2020

» Reading the Defence Forces chief's statement, I am struck by how selfless and self-sacrificing he is trying to make army officers sound and then I remember all the profitable businesses that army officers have been involved in and I wonder whether any of these businesses are now army-free or army-lite as the army chief promised shortly after a soldier went berserk and killed a lot of innocent people because the thought he was being cheated in a land deal by his commanding office.

History repeats itself

Oped, Postbag, Published on 05/06/2020

» It has often been said that those who do not study history are doomed to repeat mistakes of the past. Well, it seems that Samanea Saman's June 4 letter "Free the market", goes to prove that point. Scandal won’t go away

Oped, Postbag, Published on 27/01/2018

» Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha needs to understand that this luxury watch scandal is a serious issue. This so-called “private matter” of his deputy will weigh heavily on his credibility as long as he stays on as Thailand’s prime minister -- and will never stops unless and until this apparently inappropriate behavioural problem is corrected.
