» Though the rainy season has officially started in some parts of the country, it appeared we were in luck when rain clouds drifted off Phuket. The Sun was shining and the sky was clear when we arrived at Visit Panwa Pier, where a fleet of speedboats and catamarans were cruising the water to pick up passengers.
Salt, sea and spoonbills

» During a morning stroll through vast salt fields in the seaside town of Samut Sakhon, I couldn't resist but take breathtaking photos of a large flock of birds. Close by, experienced birdwatcher Suchart Daengpayon (also known as Mr Tee) led a small group of foreign tourists on a trip to see the food-seeking behaviours of the spoon-billed sandpiper, an endangered shorebird species.

» Not far from the white beaches, Museum Phuket Muse Mobile is roaming the town and catching the eye of vacationers and young local folks with interesting mixed-media exhibitions and fun activities that are on view from now until Sept 20.
