» A few days after the dawn of the new year, I found myself on the move earlier than usual. It is not usually until the second week we hit the ground running. After all, who would fly to Singapore just for an art exhibition? But I took it on because, given the pandemic, its theme seemed timely and powerful. Despite a brief downpour, it was a rewarding experience. Made of earthy materials, some pieces evoked a refreshing sense of self-renewal.

» After hours, I switched off the computer and left my cubicle. When I looked out the office's window, I saw high-rise buildings and winding motorways. Cars were stuck in a traffic jam day in, day out. It dawned on me that something was missing in life. I did not know what it was, but I would like to sort out my mind. A few days later, I took a break and left the city for a tranquil retreat.

» Surrounded by high-rises, large trees offer shade to urban residents, protecting them from all kinds of pollution. Nevertheless, the expansion of green space in Bangkok remains a tough nut to crack now that vacant land is harder to come by. But an environmental expert believes building pocket parks around corners and turns can help increase green cover and make the city more sustainable.
