LIFE

Still roasting

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 29/11/2019

» For eight years, Roast has been synonymous with mouth-watering, brunch comfort food -- and it still is. So when they said that a menu revamp was in the works, it was a little worrying and a little exciting. Change is always a little uncomfortable and the fear of saying goodbye to favourite dishes is a painful ordeal. Okay, I exaggerate, but still, it hurts. » Caribbean cuisine is a rare find in the Big Mango but the arrival of Jamaican Eatz is making it a little more available to us Bangkokians. OK, to each their own, I guess. But if you're one of the latter and want a more heightened cafe experience then you've come to the right place or should I say you're reading the right piece. Here are seven themed cafes to indulge yourself in Bangkok.

Just a couple of foodies

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 09/02/2018

» It's that time of the year when couples come out in full-force, restaurants are jampacked, roses and chocolates are more expensive, and single people are more bitter than usual. Yes, St Valentine's Day is upon us and that means couples all over the place. We could have just given you a list of places you could go to for a special dinner (actually, we did -- check our Food listings). But in lieu of the upcoming "festivities", if you could call it that, we decided to round up a number of foodie power couples to get to know their favourite restos and what they do during on this romantic day. Perhaps we noobs could learn a thing or two from them.
