» Anyone who lives in Asia knows that the countries are a treasure trove of supernatural beliefs that scared the living daylights out of us as kids -- and perhaps even now, as adults. With Folklore, iconic Singaporean director Eric Khoo takes the helm as showrunner as he gathers superstitions and myths from across Asia in an anthology series with each episode directed by different directors like Indonesia's Joko Anwar, the Philippines' Erik Matti and even first-time director Seiko Matsuda, who is known for her singing and acting career in Japan. The second season of the anthology series premieres on Nov 14 on HBO Go. Guru speaks with Khoo and Matsuda, who directed the second episode, about the series.

Sadly, Songkran hasn't been the same since Rona came around and it seems like we have to wait yet another year to -- hopefully -- celebrate Songkran in the wet and wild way we're familiar with. But that doesn't mean your summer has to be a bummer or that Songkran has to be spent cooped up at home -- though we know it's certainly tempting since it's getting too dang hot outside. » If you have no idea what surfskating is, I don't blame you. I didn't really know much about it until I did this story, but there's a good chance you've seen someone riding it or carrying it around the city. These boards, which are shaped slightly different from skateboards, may perhaps be brushed off by a noob like me as a different form of skateboard but there's a little more to it than that. Whatever the case, the surfskate craze has for some reason descended upon the Land of Smiles and has tickled almost everyone's fancy. If you're someone who's looking to get into it or just someone who wants to figure out what the heck is going on, read on. Perhaps by the end of this, you'll find yourself wanting to surfskate yourself.

» When young Fei Fei discovers that her dad has fallen in love with someone new, she surmises that he's probably forgotten about her late mother. To remind him, she sets on a mission to prove that the goddess Chang'e, who her mother constantly told stories about when she was a kid, is real. To do that, she has to go where the goddess lives: the moon. Netflix's new animated film is filled with songs, an emotional story, a stellar Asian cast and is a wonderful representation of Chinese culture. Guru spoke to the film's director, Glen Keane, a Disney legend who has worked as an animator for several classic Disney films, as well as the film's stars: Cathy Ang who plays Fei Fei and Phillipa Soo who plays Chang'e, to talk about the movie.
Avengers reassemble

» Marvel's Avengers wasn't exactly met with a lot of enthusiasm the first time it was revealed. To be fair, the biggest qualm everybody had was that the characters looked weird, which could just be attributed to Endgame withdrawal. Yes, Chris Evans will always bear America's ass, we're all agreed. As gameplay footage started to roll out, things started to look up. Not only did it promise an interesting single-player campaign but also multiplayer that players will come back to that's updated with events and missions. Now that it's finally here, does it dash all the criticism and live up to its promises or is it just a big mess?
Budget getaway

» Streaming and e-sports are big nowadays but gaming has been around for years. You've got boardgames, which evolved into something a little more complicated like Dungeons & Dragons. Like that time Polish hardware retailer x-kom made Doom Eternal run at 1,000 fps by pouring liquid nitrogen into the computer. Even if you just play on your phone during your commute, that pretty much makes you a gamer of sorts. Whether you're just a casual gamer or you live and breathe games, these places in and around the city are gaming havens that are worth a visit. You've got your classic arcade place, which is rare to find in Bangkok, a shop that sells classic games and consoles, and a legit e-sports studio to hone your skills by yourself or with your e-sports team.
