» For many of us, being stuck at home during the pandemic means a lot of free time to learn new skills whether it's art, gardening or cooking. For those that decide to spend their time in the kitchen to try and not be a complete noob at cooking, it may have been a funny and perhaps somewhat dangerous experience. Enter Selena + Chef, where Selena Gomez, known for her acting and music talents, takes on her little to non-existent kitchen skills. With the help of professional chefs Zooming in from all over, she gets a crash course on cooking. Guru speaks to Aaron Saidman, who developed the show and serves as one of the executive producers, and asked him what it was like producing a show early on in the pandemic and whether the possibility of Gomez cutting herself or burning her house down gave him a heart attack.

» The light at the end of the proverbial tunnel seems to grow brighter and brighter each day as Covid cases begin to somewhat falter and vaccinations are set to soon begin. That means we're still facing a few more days of enduring working from home just to be safe. That might be great news for some, but for others who are sick of the same desk, same chair and same four walls, fear not. If you're looking for a change of work scenery, these hotels in Bangkok and nearby provinces are offering their rooms so you can WFH or "Work From Hotel".

» If you haven't noticed, there's only a little over a month left for 2020 to end. This also means cooler weather all over the country and along with that comes a slew of festivals making good use of the cool breeze that makes walking outside more delightful and less of a workout. A number of these events take place outside the city, which means even cooler temperatures and breezes accompanied by fantastic views of nature. These events are a great way to enjoy the "winter season" and serve as a reminder that we've made it through 2020 so we've all earned ourselves a bit of time to enjoy what these festivals have to offer.

» Domestic travel has opened up and some semblance of travelling is finally back. A trip to Phuket or a drive to Hua Hin is all good and fun but for some of us, we may be running short on funds or we really just don't have the time to make any sort of trip. Perhaps it's too much of a hassle to fly or to drive, but that doesn't mean we don't want to get away for a bit of R&R and spend an entire day in bed.

» It's a sad twist of fate that as quarantine restrictions have lifted, the rainy season is upon us. There may be many who want to get out and about, perhaps even the introverts like me may want just a tiny bit of socialising. But don't let the rain dampen your mood. If you and your friends want to hang out and have some fun, Guru's got a few fun spots even if it's raining cats and dogs.

» The hustle and bustle of city life, especially if the city's Bangkok, can take a toll on some. One of the easiest remedies is to escape to the nearest beach but while occasional trips are great, it may also be beneficial to have a place to call your own, sort of like your fortress of solitude or more accurately, tranquillity. For that, there may be no place better than Sunplay Club Bangsaray.
