» First, we had Don't Breathe (2016) and A Quiet Place (2018), where silence is key, then Bird Box (2018), where seeing is danger. In this film, the main character is injected with a paralytic agent by a killer, leaving her fighting to survive while her mobility fades.

» On the surface, it's easy to judge Luckiest Girl Alive as another movie made to support #Metoo and other movements. Sure, this new mystery/drama film is clearly trying to shed light on quite a few touchy subjects and heavy issues, whether it's school bullying, class conflict, sexual abuse or mass shootings. But more often than not, fiction is inspired by reality. And with gripping storytelling, good character design and development, Luckiest Girl Alive is definitely a thrilling watch. The film sees the return of actress Mila Kunis as a woman whose perfect life is corroded by her past trauma and emotional scars. The film provides the audience an insight into the complicated reality of how survivors and victims endure on a daily basis.

» I was a little hesitant before going into Pistol, a music biographical drama miniseries, as I wasn't that convinced how the filmmaker is ever going to pull off such a story. The Sex Pistols was no doubt an important group in rock music history, having so much influence on the 70s UK punk movement as well as DIY and indie rock music a few decades later. However, their career was rather short, lasting a little over two years. Most of the news while they were active was rather negative with coverage focused more on scandals caused by the band members' behaviour than the actual music.

» It's been nearly two decades since the Star Wars and sci-fi movie fans were introduced to the franchise's prequel trilogy that ended with its third film Revenge Of The Sith in 2005. Fans knew that Anakin Skywalker lost to Obi-Wan Kenobi in the duel battle and left badly wounded. Yet he survived and went on to become Darth Vader, a disciple of the dark side in the original Star Wars trilogy (1977–83). This didn't stop many die-hard fans from frequent discussions and theorising about what happened in between the events of Episode III and Episode IV.

» Over the past few years, it's been amazing to see Chris Pratt's transition to a mega action star from a small role as Andy, a goofy boyfriend in the sitcom Parks And Recreation, to more sci-fi and action roles like Peter Quill/Star-Lord in The Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise, a mysterious mechanical engineer in space thriller Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence or dinosaur researcher Owen Grady in the Jurassic World franchise. Now Pratt is using his skills to play a military scientist with daddy issues who goes against time on a mission to save the world from an alien invasion in The Tomorrow War. Although lacking an original idea, with parts of the story derived from many past sci-fi hits, The Tomorrow War is still an enjoyable action-adventure with adrenaline-fuelled chase sequences.

» In Thailand, Lupin might be familiar among comic book readers, especially Lupin III, a popular Japanese manga and anime franchise about the escapades of master thief Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin, a fictional gentleman burglar seen in a series of novels by French author Maurice Leblanc.
