» It has been 25 years since the original Cruel Intentions hit theatres. The 1999 version was a massive success among teenagers, grossing US$76 million worldwide. It was also the film that catapulted British rock group The Verve to international fame with their iconic single Bitter Sweet Symphony featured on the soundtrack.

» I have never read My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix, but over the years, I've heard how great it is and how it is a horror favourite. The book was published around the same time as the hit series Stranger Things, and both have become known for their horror/comedy and coming-of-age stories with strong 1980s retro vibes. While I may not know how closely it resembles the novel, going into a comedy horror adaptation of My Best Friend's Exorcism, the poor screenplay, character development and overall execution give an impression that this movie does not achieve the charm of the original.

» Despite its popularity and cult status, the slasher genre is perhaps the most formulaic of them all. Since the genre's peak in the mid 70s and until today, each slasher movie has stayed true to its original format, without much change in the presentation. Most of these movies usually involves a group of young people on a trip, perhaps to a cabin in the woods, and a serial killer with crazy choices of weapons. There's a lot of screaming and running around and characters making poor decisions that lead to their tragic death.

All through this year, these services have kept us on our favourite couch at home while we enjoy their massive libraries.

» Four years ago when the Justice League film first came out it got mixed bag reviews. Many DC comic and movie fans even dismissed the film for its poor, unfocused script. It was mostly because the film suffered a difficult production and underwent major changes between 2016 and 2017. It was reported that Zack Snyder even stepped down during the production due to a family tragedy, then Joss Whedon came in to change things around and probably ended up changing things a little too much than they should have been.

» Social awkwardness is nothing new for millennials, who tend to grow up lacking real-world social skills. With an increase of technological use, and the rise of smartphones and social media, each day these kids seem to have less and less face-to-face interaction, instead hiding behind their screens.
