» The Better Sister is the kind of show that proves that even with a stellar cast, a gripping premise and polished production, there's no guarantee it will deliver a consistently entertaining experience. That isn't to say the latest Prime Video mystery thriller is a bad series -- far from it -- but it struggles to stand out in a genre already saturated with stronger contenders. We've probably seen a dozen shows that handled similar material with more finesse and momentum.

» There's always a first time for everyone. After three years of living life virus free, I got Covid-19 from a friend after attending a concert recently. However, to my surprise, my first experience wasn't all that terrible. I felt mildly ill, with fever and body aches, but no sore throat or a lung infection. Fortunately, I was able to look after myself at home and the symptoms only lasted a week.

» A dozen strangers suddenly wake up to find themselves in a remote field. They have no idea where they are or how they got there, but the next thing they know they're being hunted down for sport. Judging by its premise or the trailer, the new action/horror film The Hunt could give you an impression of another The Hunger Games or Maze Runner, a survival story mixed with strong political messages. But the film surprisingly delivered a satire, dark humour combined with really well filmed action sequences, plus some of the most likeable performances you'll see in a movie this year.

» Social distancing and staycations present opportunities for film lovers with the various streaming services available to the homebound. Lost Girls is one of the latest original films Netflix has to offer this month. It's directed by Liz Garbus and stars Amy Ryan, Thomasin McKenzie, Oona Laurence, Dean Winters and Gabriel Byrne. While it isn't perfect, the movie is still worth your time especially if you're in the mood for crime drama and detective story with quite heavy subject matter.

Not to mention nearly a dozen television shows, countless tie-in comics and games and merchandising options and viral videos, this so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over US$18.6 billion (596.1 billion baht) at the global box office. And the epic adventure has now come to its grand conclusion, with the 22nd film, Avengers: Endgame, and it should satisfy all fans of the series.
