» Fans of murder mysteries and true crime-type documentaries will be delighted to learn that Hulu historical crime drama Boston Strangler is now on the Disney+ streaming service. Directed by Matt Ruskin, Boston Strangler stars British actress Keira Knightley in the role of a real-life American reporter tracking a series of killings of women around Boston in the 1960s. The official case of this serial killer, aka the Boston Strangler, remains unsolved to this day, but the gruesome story really shook up things for decades.

» July is a satisfying month for horror fans as Netflix released a number of new films from this genre. From the American-made Fear Street trilogy and Italian A Classic Horror Story to the latest spin-off episode of the South Korean hit zombie series Kingdom: Ashin Of The North. As the month comes to a close, the streaming service brought viewers another turbulent action thriller flick from Germany, Blood Red Sky, about a group of terrorists picking the wrong plane to hijack.

» There is something about British actor Idris Elba and his unique persona that draws him to Westerns and cowboy-type stories. Last time we saw him in a cowboy hat and holding twin revolvers was in the Stephen King's Western fantasy adaptation The Dark Tower (2017), Elba has two more Western-themed films scheduled this year, the action film The Harder They Fall where he plays an outlaw gunfighter opposite Jonathan Majors; and the latest Netflix release Concrete Cowboy, a high drama and coming of age film that takes place in the real-life urban cowboy community in a Philadelphia neighbourhood.
