Those who grew up in the 90s may remember crime thrillers Kiss The Girls (1997) and Along Came A Spider (2001), starring Morgan Freeman as the titular forensic psychologist and detective. Despite box office successes, these films received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics. The 2012 reboot, Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry, fared even worse. Panned by critics and ultimately a box office bomb, it led to the cancellation of a planned sequel.

As portrayed here by Cate Blanchett, she's at the absolute height of her career and there seems to be no limit to what she's able to achieve. She's smart, talented, passionate about music and is ready to take her career to new heights. We see her as she goes about preparing to release her book titled Tár On Tár, as well as conduct a concert in which she tackles Mahler's most complex musical piece, the Fifth Symphony.
When only action makes sense

Some found the plot to be non-existent and had nothing appealing besides gunfights and explosions. Carter, a new South Korean action thriller about an amnesiac agent who is given an impossible mission, is another movie that follows the Shoot 'Em Up formula, where only action makes sense.

» When we think of abusive relationships, our minds often imagine physical violence leading to black eyes or bruised lips, but in reality, there's much more to it than that. It can also involve mental, emotional, and verbal abuse. If you watch the trailer of the new miniseries Maid, it might look depressing or even a public service announcement about domestic abuse but don't let that scare you away because Maid will get you hooked on its plot in minutes. I spent 10 hours binge-watching in one sitting. Maid is one of those shows that has that effect on you. This drama is powerful, heartbreaking, inspiring, and absolutely one of the best shows on Netflix I've seen all year.
Horror tale for the family

» As we get closer to October and Halloween, finding spooky movies to watch with the family isn't so easy. But if you're a fan of horror movies and TV shows like Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, The Twilight Zone or Goosebumps, be sure to check out Nightbooks, a new Netflix dark fantasy about a boy imprisoned by an evil witch in her New York City apartment. The film has gone a bit under the radar even though it's produced by renowned filmmaker Sam Raimi. While Nightbooks is certainly not for young audiences, the 12-year-old inside of me would have absolutely enjoyed this movie.
