Iran retaliated with attacks targeting Israeli military bases as well as US military bases in the Middle East. Following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, on March 27 the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz which is a key oil transit route.
