» To further develop the creative economy in the Northeast, the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), Khon Kaen province and Alliances teamed up to create the Isan Creative Festival under the theme "Isan Soul Proud". The festival is presented through three industries -- entertainment and content; handicrafts, arts and design; and food.

» Woraphot Bunkhwamdi is a naturalist with a special interest in the sounds of nature and birds. While he was an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Sciences, Silpakorn University, he was walking on Ao Manao beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan at night and heard the tinkling sound of numerous button top shells being washed up on the shore then pulled back into the sea. The sound of the shells left a lasting impression on him. Woraphot returned to Ao Manao several years later, but never heard that sound again since the numbers of button top shells had decreased. This incident was one of several reasons which encouraged him to record the sounds of nature.

» Pavida Kritasaran has suffered from itchy rashes for 15 years. Due to the rashes, she had to take steroids for years. Her unusual condition triggered an interest in macrobiotic foods and later organic food. Although she was careful with her diet, she still had rashes.

» To celebrate 190 years of US-Thai diplomatic relations, the art exhibition "Rivers Of Life" has been organised by the US embassy, ICONSIAM and the Chiang Khong community of Chiang Rai. On view at ICONSIAM, the exhibition features two videos -- I See That You Don't See created by Montika Kam-On, a young Thai moving image artist, and A Tale Of Two Rivers created by Alexis Karl, a US filmmaker and perfume artist. Both aim to raise awareness about environmental issues related to the two rivers -- the Mekong and the Mississippi.

» Animal cadavers are necessary for veterinary students, especially in surgical training. Formalin is normally used to preserve animal cadavers, however, it can cause stiffness in the joints and tissues and its odour irritates the eyes and nose, which can distract veterinary students from their practice.
