» When Rose Bannaros worked with artist Luck Maisalee, she noticed that many of his pieces were inspired by female figures and icons. Impressed by this, Rose aimed to display this particular aspect of Luck's work. However, she was concerned that presenting work from a single artist could lead to a narrow perspective, so to provide diverse perspectives of women, Rose collaborated with three other female artists -- Kaewtrakarn Junlabon, Parichat Suphaphan and Marisa Srijunpleang.

» Although Cyril Kongo is a graffiti artist, his creative expressions are not limited to walls, which were his first medium. His artistic creations also appear on a range of products such as watch dials, scarves, furniture, cigars and even airplanes due to collaborations with high-end brands including Hermès, Chanel, Richard Mille, Daum and La Cornue.

» Last year, Marisa Srijunpleang, an artist from Surin, created the art exhibition "T360174" which showed how the Khmer Rouge genocide directly and indirectly affected her family. Recently, Marisa created the photo exhibition "Blooms With The Wind Blows", a continuation of her previous work.

» Like other industries, everything related to the art industry, from museums, art festivals, art fairs, galleries and more took a hiatus during the pandemic lockdown. However, after the lockdown was lifted, the country's art scene started to get a little more vibrant. Even Thailand's largest art festivals, Bangkok Art Biennale, returned.
Celebs not liable for Wanchalearm

» Last week, exiled Thai activist Wanchalearm Satsaksit, who was living in Phnom Penh was reportedly abducted. In 2014, the 37-year-old Thai political refugee had refused a military summons and in 2017, he was accused of violating the Computer Crimes Act. In an interview with the press, Maj Gen Burin Thongprapai said Wanchalearm wasn't facing lese-majeste charges. Regardless, news of his abduction has caused an uproar on social media. Most people (on Twitter) think that someone who has a different opinion than the junta government should not be made to disappear. Yet, some people also commented that there was no evidence to prove that the state was involved in his abduction while others went as far as to believe the abduction was fake news.
