» Five years ago, the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) developed Charoen Krung to be the first creative district in Bangkok. Before the old Charoen Krung could become an area of hip café, restaurants, bars and art galleries, people at CEA organised focus groups and listened to opinions of more than 500 local people in the community. To serve the community in accordance to their opinions, CEA decided to work on five projects -- recreating the public riverfront, developing abandoned shophouses, creating green pocket landscape, connecting local alleys and designing signage for walkable districts.

» Chiang Mai-based artist Thaiwijit Puengkasemsomboon has to stay inside his house during summer due to the air pollution caused by PM2.5. The artist was uncomfortable being locked up in his house every summer and the PM 2.5 pollution was getting worse. Chiang Mai used to be renowned for its spectacular landscape, but last March, Chiang Mai became known as the most polluted city in the world, according to IQ AirVisual.

» Located in Japan's Chiba Prefecture, Sawara is a beautiful small town, only 70km away from the capital Tokyo. The town is renowned for its historical architecture from the Edo Period (1603–1868) and two traditional festivals -- the Sawara Hina Festival and Sawara Grand festival. Recently, scenic views of the town in photographs on facebook.com/wonder.sawara -- created to promote the town of Sawara among Thai tourists -- caught the eye of watercolourist Chatchai Thammaphirome, aka AnimaToey, and inspired him to paint.
