» While many artists seek inspiration outside their home, Wannaprapa Tungkasmith, better known as Collagecanto, discovered that home is one of the best places to find her muse. Wannaprapa is famous for her intricate papercutting artwork. Her solo exhibition "I Am Home" was inspired during the Covid-19 lockdown when many people were forced to stay indoors. That period ignited Wannaprapa to create this introspective exhibition.

» To raise awareness of the importance of collecting in the Thai art ecosystem, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) held the exhibition "Crossover: The Unveiled Collection" in 2005. The exhibition presented a collection of Thai artworks by local and international collectors. This year, in collaboration with the Thai Art Collector Association (TACA), BACC presents "Crossover II: The Nature Of Relationships", which showcases 72 paintings from 11 organisations and 10 private collectors.
What is a labourer?

» In mainstream media, labourers are usually portrayed as muscular working-class men who engage in physical work to earn money. In order to expand this stereotypical image of labourers, three aspiring curators -- Trithida Trising, Kukasina Kubaha and Panod Srinual -- of the project "Start! Art Curator Season 2" created the exhibition "Crossing The Lines" to give a different interpretation of labourers.

» As part of the 2021 UOB Painting of the Year (Thailand) competition, artists were allowed to create paintings without restrictions in terms of imagination and ingenuity since there was no specific theme. The results were rewarding. The winner of UOB Painting of the Year (Thailand) in the established artist category, Vachira Kornthong, created a mixed media on canvas painting, Land Of Happiness, which depicts the hidden beauty and abundant happiness found in nature. Land Of Happiness stood out with its use of vibrant colours combined with a fabric applique technique. The message of nature conservation that the artwork implies also touched viewers.

» Last March, Christie's organised an auction of a collage of 5,000 digital images titled Everydays: The First 5000 Days by digital artist Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple. The digital art piece sold for US$69 million (2.2 billion baht).
