A dialogue on womanhood

» When Rose Bannaros worked with artist Luck Maisalee, she noticed that many of his pieces were inspired by female figures and icons. Impressed by this, Rose aimed to display this particular aspect of Luck's work. However, she was concerned that presenting work from a single artist could lead to a narrow perspective, so to provide diverse perspectives of women, Rose collaborated with three other female artists -- Kaewtrakarn Junlabon, Parichat Suphaphan and Marisa Srijunpleang.

» Last year, Marisa Srijunpleang, an artist from Surin, created the art exhibition "T360174" which showed how the Khmer Rouge genocide directly and indirectly affected her family. Recently, Marisa created the photo exhibition "Blooms With The Wind Blows", a continuation of her previous work.

» One of the biggest K-pop stories in December has been the enlistment of the remaining four members of BTS for mandatory military service. On Dec 11, RM, the leader of BTS, and V, the vocalist, began their enlistment. The following day, two other vocalists, Jimin and Jungkook, entered training camps in Yeoncheon together. As the world's biggest boy band goes on hiatus, it will be interesting to see which rival claims the top spot in the absence of BTS.

» At the age of three, Pu* was forced by his divorced father to beg for money at a flyover. Whenever the boy returned home empty-handed, his father, a drunk, would beat him. Eventually, someone reported the situation to the police. Pu was taken away from his abusive father and raised in a foundation.

» At a Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education workshop in St Francis Xavier Convent School, high-school girls designed many Internet of Things projects, such as a machine to cook eggs automatically, a pillow that can wake a sleeper in the morning with its vibrations, and a clothesline that can keep clothes dry by putting canvas up when it's raining. The software program Maker Playground is a tool behind the girls' successes.

» A few weeks ago, a lawyer posted on Facebook, saying she had worked on a case in which an obstetrician was accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients. The lawyer suspected there might be other patients who had been abused by the doctor and urged them to come forward.
