Shades of Isan

» As head of the local arts department at Udon Thani Rajabhat University, Asst Prof Kulajit Sengna has researched Isan art and design for 15 years. While creating artefacts inspired by Isan mural art, she felt uncomfortable painting with colours available in the market because they did not match the original paintings. Therefore, Asst Prof Kulajit decided to mix paints to create new shades herself.

» Art is everywhere in Bangkok -- in galleries, malls, cafes and even temples -- and now also in Benjakitti Park, an urban green area with biodiverse ecosystems. "Greeting Benjakitti", part of Unfold Bangkok organised by the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, is now open to the public. Unfold Bangkok aims to introduce tourists to the charm of the capital which they may have never seen before.

» When TV drama Dok Khoon, Sieng Khaen was planned to be screened on GMM25, the announcement received positive response. Featuring locations in Thailand's northeastern region and characters speaking Isan, the show was expected to be an enjoyable programme.
