» Take a glance at the Premier League table and the club which immediately catches the eye are Nottingham Forest sitting up there in third place. They are not really supposed to be there cheekily looking down on the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa. Okay, it probably won't last but they will enjoy it while they can.

» Although it was not the most spectacular opening week in the Premier League with no major upsets there were still enough talking points to whet the appetite for this weekend's action. It was also a low-scoring week with just 21 goals coming from the 10 matches, but at least there wasn't a 0-0.

» When you get down to the nitty gritty in football it is goals that spectators really want to see and last week the Premier League didn't disappoint. The clubs outdid themselves with a record 45 goals being scored in the 10 games over the weekend. This beats the 44 on two weekends in 2020 and 2023.
