» As technology continues to render computer components smaller and smaller, the need to compromise between portability and power is rendered increasingly moot. The 2017 model of the HP Spectre x360 is a paragon of this idea, seamlessly incorporating 4K-capable processing power with a body barely over a kilo in weight. While the review unit I received had some issues maintaining battery life after a while -- no doubt due to the 4K screen -- the overall experience, including the touchpad, keyboard and even the touchscreen-controlled tablet mode are better than any convertible of this size I've ever experienced. It's certainly the most powerful, too.

» A new scientific study has been published on the upper limits of the human lifespan. While medical advances continue to lengthen the average time a human stays alive on Earth, scientists have determined that the maximum age a human can likely survive is no longer than 120 years, due to physical imperfections in the gene-replication process. Like all things borne of flesh, our bodies can only alter the natural force of entropy for so long before we break down forever.

» Powerful, ultra-thin laptops are beginning to make a mark, offering impressive performance for efficient and portable machines. Asus' ZenBook Flip S (ux370) proves this point, with an Intel i7-7500U processor, 8GB of RAM and a generous 512GB SSD. As a laptop, the ZenBook Flip S is great, with an impressive screen, keyboard and track-pad making the device a pleasure to use. While the device does run a little warm, even with just general use, the overall experience was still quite positive.
