» The recent independent horror film Iron Lung (2026) by popular YouTuber Markiplier opened at US$21.7 million at the box office, seven times its modest US$3 million budget. The film also garnered 90% approval from fans on Rotten Tomatoes. This is not the first, and far from the only, time that YouTubers have turned to filmmaking.
