The tripping mermaid

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 14/05/2015

» If you don't want to prepare for summer by the pool in a girly, sexy or sweet manner, there's the cheeky and kooky option available with Lalalove. Their summer collection, aptly named "Tripping Mermaid", features an electrifying underwater world, where a mermaid makes her way through a bevy of neon jellyfish, coral reefs, cigarettes, octopuses and sea eels. All of the graphics are brought to life by a collaboration with Oh Hatairat, that cool gal who influences the hip-conscious with her big-eyed illustrations, magazine columns and music. Even though she is mostly known as the bassist of the band Futon, her works as an illustrator are also recognisable, with their own eerie femininity.

» Most Thai people probably own no less than one article of clothing from the Jaspal empire, and the name Arcadia Group has the same effect in the United Kingdom. This multinational retail giant is behind high-street names that literally fill a British consumer's wardrobe, owning globally popular brands Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins. Central Marketing Group has brought this whole high-street haven to Thai fashionistas, with its latest import being Burton — a menswear line that has offered quality suits since its inception in 1903.

» Levi's 501 Jean enjoys a rack-life that dates back even beyond when dad bought his first pair during his teenage days. These universal blues have always been known for their straight leg, signature button fly and a relaxed fit. Over the past 150 years, new styles and ways of wearing jeans have come and gone, yet, all are descendants that take some influence, more or less, from the original Levi's 501.
