Destination: Wellness

Guru, Kankanok Wichiantanon, Published on 18/09/2020

» Built around a cave temple that once served as a meditative retreat for Buddhist monks, Kamalaya Koh Samui manages to top many other wellness retreats that I have been to. This is largely because its focus isn't only to provide you with a peaceful sanctuary that is an escape from the rest of the world but also to help you find a deeper understanding of yourself. The thoughtfully prepared food, great service and the company of the people there make Kamalaya overshadows a regular beach holiday to no end.

Reliving colonial charm

Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 07/08/2020

» I have always wanted to stay at The Cabochon Hotel on Sukhumvit 45, especially since it is also home to one of my favourite hide away bars in Bangkok. Bringing Old World charm to the modern age, the hotel reminds me of my family's summer home, which was built during colonial times.

Snow business in Korea

Life, Karnjana Karnjanatawe, Published on 23/01/2020

» Darkness swiftly enveloped the orange sky after dusk. Yellow lights came on up and down the mountainside, illuminating the ski slopes. The freezing weather discouraged me from leaving my warm room, but there were plenty of hardy souls out enjoying some late-night skiing.

» The hustle and bustle of city life, especially if the city's Bangkok, can take a toll on some. One of the easiest remedies is to escape to the nearest beach but while occasional trips are great, it may also be beneficial to have a place to call your own, sort of like your fortress of solitude or more accurately, tranquillity. For that, there may be no place better than Sunplay Club Bangsaray.

» One of a handful of hotels in Siem Reap, Cambodia, spearheading the sustainability movement is Treeline Urban Resort. The urban resort, which gets its name from the Angkorian trees dotting the pathways of the city, opened in November 2018. It is right on the beaten path and off it.
