» When House of Fritz Hansen in Soi Somkid first came to life in 2017, the white house from the 1950s it inhabited was polished into a showroom to display how luxury Danish furniture pieces could fit into a Thai home. Sleek and clean minimalism usually comes to mind at the mention of this Scandinavian name -- but the global rebrand that has been set into motion since last year is injecting quite a popping touch of colours, fun and modernity to its overall aesthetics.

» The brand new Bangkok Citycity Gallery now has Thailand's most-loved illustrated darling, Mamuang, to mark its inception in the art arena. The day Wisut Ponnimit's work will be shown full-scale in Thailand has arrived at last -- and judging by the artist's "yeah-whatever-don't-make-life-complicated" mindset, you'd better pop in to see it before the exhibition ends in early October. The opportunity to see his mango-shaped little girl -- this time in the form of a choose-your-own-adventure maze, is possibly harder than trying to find Maroon 5 tickets, thanks to Wisut's constant tsunami of work for magazines, product endorsements and countless corporations.

Remade and reinterpreted around the world for over 50 years, there was no surprise that the comedy, first written by French playwright Marc Camolleti, would eventually land rather fittingly on Thai shores. A playboy juggling three different air hostess fiancées — I'm not altogether sure that someone Thai didn't come up with this plot.
