» It's now been two years since we first encountered Covid-19, during which time most organisations have become familiar with remote working, among many other adjustments. For example, riding against the traffic is the norm for motorcyclists, especially delivery drivers seeking to cash in on the huge spike in Covid-era demand. You may also have noticed more car drivers going the wrong way just to save a few seconds in closed spaces such as shopping mall parking lots.

» Rightly or wrongly, bosses and their direct reports tend not to get along that well in many workplaces. There is a kind of invisible barrier preventing them from getting closer and sharing their views, both work-related and personal. From my observation and direct experience, suggesting that a subordinate get closer to the boss is not easy. Working the other way around -- encouraging the boss to reach out to the subordinate -- is more promising.
