» A conversation with renowned couturier Somchai "Kai" Kaewthong is usually sparkled with the names of khunyings and historical titbits. It is exceedingly difficult to get the man to talk about himself, even if he would be well justified in doing so having been named this year's National Artist. In fact, today is National Artist Day. And along with 16 other figures who have also been honoured with the title, Somchai will be going through the formalities of royally receiving his recognition pin and honour plaque on this very day.

» In the spirit to try everything at least once in this lifetime (food that is, ahem), I decided to venture to Mercury Ville when I heard of a newly-opened premium vegan bakery called Veganerie. Of course, as a food and dessert devotee who would rather be pushed off a cliff by lemmings than live a life free from meat, dairy and eggs, it all boils down to one simple and obvious question. Will I be totally grossed out by the food here?

Down to a tea

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 26/06/2014

» If you’ve ever wanted to market and sell a product that might eventually make its way to becoming iconic and part of a national identity, you may be able to learn a few things and take a few case points from tea. One of the key players in the industry is Twinings, the British marketer that has been selling tea since 1706. Stephen Twining is from the 10th generation of the famous tea family and is not only a tea master, but also a seasoned spokesperson that can chat about tea all day.
