» Guided by the Earth's magnetic field, these ancient explorers navigate vast oceanic distances and return to their birthplaces with astonishing precision! They spend their entire lives in seas where they breed, feed, and even sleep. Females are beaching only to lay eggs. Graceful and beautiful, with their streamlined bodies and flippers adapted for swimming, the existing seven species of sea turtles have been navigating the world's oceans for 200 million years. These seven species are leatherback turtle, green turtle, loggerhead turtle, hawksbill turtle, Kemp's ridley turtle, olive ridley turtle and flatback turtle.

» Three Bryde's whales were recently founded dead in the Gulf of Thailand in Samut Prakan, Chumphon and Surat Thani. After autopsies, the director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Centre, the Central Gulf of Thailand found that fishing gear and marine debris were among the major causes of death. These endangered species must have come to the surface of the sea to breathe, getting themselves injured by fishing gear such as nets. Marine debris also troubled the whales' digestive systems, causing them to become sick, grow weak and die.

» A sea turtle, nicknamed Omsin (piggy bank), recently underwent a seven-hour surgery to remove 915 coins weighing about 5kg from her stomach. How did these coins find their way into Nong Omsin's stomach in the first place, I hear you ask? Well, apparently people dropped coins into the well this turtle lived in, believing they were "making merit" and would get lucky. This just shows how reckless people can be when it comes to what they perceive to be a "good deed". How on earth is practically feeding a turtle with indigestible pieces of metal considered to be a good or even sound action?
