» The setting: Bangkok Bold is a name that doesn't need much of an introduction. Well-known for its cooking class and chef's table experience at its original branch on Phra Sumen Road, Bangkok Bold opened a second outlet called Bangkok Bold Kitchen about six months ago on the Thon Buri side. It is positioned differently, being a restaurant that welcomes walk-in customers on top of hosting a chef's table and cooking classes in an intimate setting.

» At the risk of sounding like a try-hard, I insist that a tasting menu is like a window to a restaurant's soul and philosophy. A savoury showcase or a culinary compilation, if you will. Think about it, people. With such a menu, you'll get to sample different things throughout a multi-course meal while the restaurant carefully puts on its premeditated show. Many restaurants in Bangkok in the upper echelons offer tasting menus, with Water Library at Chamchuri Square being one of them. And may we say that the menu is definitely something.

» While many resorts boast about having private beaches, in reality, what they should be saying is "we're really right next to the beach but we share it with our neighbouring hotels and possibly some random vendors too". However, Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach, can really back this claim up. And rightfully so too.

» The setting: You know what's better than one good restaurant? The answer is six of them being put together in one space! The recently-opened My Kitchen at Siam Discovery may look like your average food court, but on close inspection, you'll realise it's an all-star kitchen collaboration between six notable names. They are Man Fu Yuan, Cafe Chilli, Nara, Kuppadeli, Yuzu by Yuutaro and Brix Dessert Bar, bringing different cuisines and appeals into this 1,000sqm space.
