My travel companions and I ambled along the same road but in the opposite direction of the tea pickers. We were on our way to the tea farm to have our tea-picking experience.

» When it comes to nature trails on Doi Inthanon, the country's highest mountain in Chiang Mai's Chom Thong district, many will be familiar with Ang Ka Luang on the mountain peak as well as Kiew Mae Pan at KM42 on the road leading to Doi Inthanon. As a matter of fact, another interesting nature trail in the area was opened to the public about 10 years ago with the collaboration of local villagers and Doi Inthanon National Park. However, it is not as popular as the two other routes, famous for the sea of mist over evergreen forests and grass fields.

» We walked on a narrow path in a large herbal garden belonging to Samai Koonsuk, 57, chairman of the Ban Dong Bang Organic Herbal Community Enterprise in Muang district in Prachin Buri. I felt like we were ducklings following a mother duck. Instead of making "quack, quack" sounds, we asked questions like "What is this leaf?", "What is that flower?", "Can we eat it raw?" while pointing at various plants.
