LIFE

Loss and longing

Life, Kaona Pongpipat, Published on 02/06/2016

» It's not until we have seen the ongoing show "Lhong", a project comprising of five short plays, that we realise how much the space of Democrazy Theatre Studio actually has to offer. Fun hits and misses

» The award for best art exhibition opening reception this month goes to café/gallery Counting Sheep Corner on Sukhumvit 61 with Thomas Carrigan's paintings. » Stepping into the dimly lit Jim Thompson Art Center, one immediately feels connected. The parade of motorcycles is more than a common sight in Bangkok. The colourful car headlining and flaring lights are reminiscent of a songthaew ride home. Other video installations featuring in the space's current exhibition "Missing Links" are instantaneously relatable, even without any explanatory text.

LIFE

Cool, complicated art

Life, Kaona Pongpipat, Published on 27/05/2015

» This month's Art Matters runs the whole page. Should you find the idea unbearably tedious, here's a solution: the next paragraph pretty much sums up what's going on in the Bangkok art scene and, once done, you can go continue with more enjoyable things in life. Here goes:
