» I've been to Chiang Mai three times in my life. And while there are so many things to remember the province by - the nice weather, the low-roof song taew, finding Guru at All Seasons Chiang Mai, crowded but colourful walking streets, that media-whore of a panda, that vendor guy who scoops up sizzling fried chicken with his bare hands, and that guy who handed me his name card and told me he could procure young girls for my pleasure - the one aspect that stood out the most is the food. Double Lives

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 13/07/2012

For example, Itthipat Kulapongvanich made some serious cash by selling online game items before he became the CEO of seaweed enterprise Taokaenoi. Pleum Leekpai is the energetic, funny and politically incorrect co-host of TV show VRZO but he also wore a tie and looked professional during his time as an assistant to a Ministry of Culture spokesperson. And even Superman works as a reporter named Clark Kent when he isn't fighting villains and saving the world.

We've found four people who decided to pursue their passions and are currently at different stages of their entrepreneurship. Their stories may give you some ideas on how to take the plunge and run your own business (as you possibly achieve financial freedom).

The rice bran man

» My dad was determined to build a plant that added value to Thailand's agricultural commodities, especially rice bran. However he unexpectedly died two months after starting it and, at that time, he had borrowed a large sum of money. His death brought us not only grief but also set off a crisis of confidence among the company's stakeholders.
