» It has been two weeks since the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej but the long line of mourners paying their respects to him at the Grand Palace doesn't seem to be dwindling. While the entire nation is recovering from this great loss, it's heart-warming to witness that his passing has brought out the best in his people. Dining in chemistry

» Not every restaurant creates such an impression on arrival. In the case of the second branch of ABC Essence in Eatery, your eyes may be drawn to work out all the dashing details in its décor. The white installation made of hexagonal patterns at the entrance is the first thing to grab your attention. The two gleaming white bars facing the outside at the front are designed for those who want to grab a cup of joe or a sandwich while people-watching. A few steps further in are hexagonal podiums, displaying cookies and boxes of micro greens, as if they are artefacts. One of the walls is adorned with copper mirrors from floor to ceiling, visually doubling the space. This indoor dining area with marble flooring feels spacious, airy and modern. But why so many hexagons, you ask? Well, they represent the structural formula of chemical compounds and, of course, are the essence of food.
