Tend your bloom

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 25/03/2022

» I'd be lying if I said wellness retreats are a complete walk in the park. However, fashion brand Sretsis' collaboration with award-winning resort Kamalaya Koh Samui makes the whole experience a lot more palatable. Launched this month, the Blossom To Bliss programme has been curated by Sretsis to offer guests a range of wellness experiences and rejuvenating treatments during their three- or five-night stay. A selection of exclusive Sretsis merchandise, which is included in this package, adds a flowery fantasy to this seemingly austere pursuit.

Exotic tea and bites at the St. Regis

» Following right after women, it is arguably afternoon tea that is a match made in heaven when paired with fine jewellery. The two just naturally go together -- where the decorative nature of afternoon tea sets make it the perfect canvas to recreate the daintiness of jewellery pieces.

» It can be argued that Phuket is a wellness retreat capital of sorts -- with many destinations offering spa and alternative therapies to choose from. There are no shortages of options on the island, but if you are ready to splurge, the latest top-of-the-line name to keep in mind right now is Asaya. Nestled at the recently opened Rosewood Phuket, this is the hotel's very first holistic wellness concept to be launched globally, with more branches to be rolled out at various Rosewood properties around the world.

From the Big Apple to the Big Mango

» It's all been there done that on the Cannes Lion advertising award circuit for Kantapon Metheekul. The young creative executive has won many awards, been featured in several publications and has illustrated for a handful of high street and luxury fashion brands -- but that's not his true calling. As someone who loved to draw since he was five, it was only natural that Kantapon's veins throbbed to become a full-time artist -- to draw his own creations and not what others briefed him to. After three years of working for advertising agencies, he packed his bags and headed to New York to become an artist.

Beyond basics

» The irony of basic clothes is they are extremely difficult to design despite a seemingly simplistic cut. If coming from the higher spectrum of fashion with a steeper price tag, it most definitely must transcend the typical to offer more than what the naked eye can see. A handful of basic authorities are elevating their designs to up their game and giving their starry-eyed fans something to get excited about. We turn the spotlight to Calvin Klein, Uniqlo and Theory to dissect their upcoming plans and current collections.

Sweet dreams

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 31/01/2014

» The north side of Siam Paragon's fourth floor used to be a rather dry and vague void, but today it is filled with pastel columns, and a flouncy cloud-like pink net sprawls across the air to create a canopy in an area called Dream Forest. The centre seating area is engulfed in a completely pink, fanciful and jungle-like theme, is enclosed by six different sweet stores on the fourth floor (True Coffee, Fucheer, Royal Sugar, Tart to Tart, Patisserie Masatomi, Cupcake Love) and four more on the fifth (Custard No. 4, Love to Eat, Mister Donut, Chewy Junior). This lovely quiet location exudes a dreamy ambience, away from the bustle of a typical food floor's commotion and frenzy. Browse around to find a menu that rings your bell, pay at their counter and walk back to your seat and wait to be served all this done gloriously service-free. No more days of bickering, because anyone can eat whatever they want from any store. We visit the most attractive setups at this new hive of sweetness.
