» The 11th International Butoh Festival kicked off last week with performances Sonata For An Uninhibited Body by Rosana Barra, Oju Obá -- The Eyes Of The Falling King, The Eyes Of The Rising King by Calé Miranda and Indonesian performer Tony Broer's untitled show. Awaiting Butoh fans on this second and final weekend is one of the festival's highlights: Quiet House, a collaboration piece by Japan's Takayuki Takita and Yuko Kawamoto, and Teerawat Mulvilai from B-Floor Theatre.

» As per tradition, this year's Bangkok Theatre Festival kicked off last weekend at Santi Chaiprakan Park in Bang Lamphu, with a packed two-day programme. The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), however, is the main arena for this year's event, and will host a wide range of shows, from musicals and movement-based performances to pantomime and puppetry, for the next two weeks.

But unlike other artists' approach to the subject, which has often involved going deep into their own thoughts and feelings, his set of works is not the projection of his own fear. Instead, the public's sense of dread was the source of this artist's inspiration. He gathered the information about those fears with a combination of research and personal interaction with people.
