Refined rawness

» A step into Bangkok's latest fine jewellery flagship store does not involve upholstered chairs, velvet-lined display cases and plush, crystal lighting fixtures. At Patcharavipa, the earth-toned archaeological plaster floor and walls offer your first feel of the brand's organic characteristics, while the space is sparsely dotted with what looks like slick, rectangular blocks of dark concrete that house the jewellery pieces.

There's just so much to talk about. And the conversation is going to get even more compelling with the addition of 98 Wireless -- which is bound to literally turn the head section on Wireless Road into a slice of the Big Apple this November.

The Rolex Way

» The king of the sports watch, Rolex, and Cortina Watch have just opened the doors of a palatial boutique and permanent exhibition at Marina Square in Singapore. In the 513m² boutique, you'll be seeing lots of green, a very comprehensive display of the Oyster and Cellini collections (among other Rolex watches set with diamonds, sapphires and rubies) and a proper bar that could easily keep a party of 100 sipping all night.

Deeper than design

Muse, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 21/05/2016

» The design director of Studio Act of Kindness could easily pass for a fashion darling -- with his brand of photographs that flaunt a dark and broody kind of good looks. But just as synonymous with his clouded stares and modelesque poses are a backdrop of amazing spaces with stylish furnishings -- many of which are locations he has had a hand in designing. His latest creation where we meet is a welcome illusory; Track17 is a bar made to look like a Euro-riche train bogey, proper sombre in its woodwork and brimming with trinkets of a bygone Victorian era.

» Among the many buzz-fuelled collaborations that pack today's retail landscape to thrill and tempt consumers, designer stardust tends to work like magic at bringing a new shine to prosaic and eternally present products.
