» 1. Jam Ciné Club is back for November under the theme "Dystopia", with a focus on sci-fi films from the 60s and 70s with disturbing relevance today. This Wednesday, the film to be screened is Logan's Run (1976). Set in the year 2274, the film focuses on an idyllic sci-fi future where everyone is made to believe that life ends at the age of 30. As is true of all sci-fi dystopias, however, things aren't always as they seem, causing various members of society to flee from the utopia upon turning 30. Logan, a law enforcement officer, goes undercover to expose the hideout of these "runners", only to find himself a champion of their cause. Screenings start at 8pm, and is free for anyone interested.
