» 1 Feel like putting your strength to the test? Under Armour is bringing back its annual urban fitness challenge Test Of Will, to be held on April 28 and 29 at CentralWorld. Participants will complete physical challenges -- Over and Under (hurdles), Deadball Squats, Kettlebell Farmer Walks and Bear Crawls -- in a four-minute circuit challenge. Contestants will be divided into age categories: 18-34, 35-44 and 45+. Each will be scored based on the maximum number of correct repetitions they can achieve within one minute. A cash prize of 50,000 baht is up for grabs for the male and female competitors who achieve highest overall score. Register to compete, for 500 baht, at testofwill.com. Here's a 60s-70s blues-rock maverick who sold his soul to heroin, cocaine, cognac, whatever, and when he emerged from the pit and things began to feel wonderful tonight, he lost his son in a terrible, terrible accident. That a new documentary about his life to date is allowed to end happily is proof that rock'n'roll (and life itself) can cheat the claws of fate and go on for longer than 12 bars.

In Railway Sleepers, a minutely observed film shot entirely on-board a Thai train, we see kids on school trips, young men travelling north and south, hawkers selling food and horoscope books, families and lovers, vacationers who turn the sleeping car into a party venue. They're passengers, and they're also humans. They are, as director Sompot Chidgasornpongse says, a collection of faces that make up a portrait of Thailand.

» 1 Treat yourself to some of the best short films in recent Thai history with Lost In Blue, a collection of three student-made films revolving around various types of heartbreak. The three films (Wannan Kong Duen -- That Day Of The Month, Rain and Glowstick) -- directed by recent graduates of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Communication Arts -- have collectively won various awards both in Thailand and abroad. The long list of accolades includes the White Elephant Film Award, the Young Thai Artist Award, and, most prominently, the Special Jury Mention award from the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. The latter is known as one of the most prestigious short-film competitions in the world, and that makes Wannan Kong Duen one of only two Thai short films ever to win an award at the competition. The film is being shown exclusively at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld.
