» Saroj "Ark" Kunatanad lives out and proud is his personal and professional lives. As an OG member of Trasher Bangkok, he has directed parody music videos and organised inclusive parties pre-Covid-19. He has also explored photography skills with intimate and sensual male portraits, adding "director” of music videos and commercials to his CV. Ark makes his directorial debut with Getaway, a Singaporean BL (boy love) web drama shot in Bangkok, for Asia's leading LGBTQIA media publication Dear Straight People. Ark tells Guru about the new web series and his creative journey.

» It seems like not a month goes by without Thailand being recognised on a global scale. Recently, Bangkok beat Paris and London as the most visited city in the world for 2018, for the fourth consecutive year, according to a MasterCard ranking. Thailand's capital hosted 22 million overnight travellers. In the midst of the flattering and not-so-flattering world titles Thailand has received, you may not be aware of the times we receive recognition for rather peculiar feats. If your curiosity is piqued, allow me to present the strange/cool world records in the Land of Smiles.

» Pan Pan Narkprasert, also known by his stage name Pangina Heals, has gone on to do bigger things since we first put him on our cover eon ago -- in 2012 to be exact. The UCLA art graduate has become an artistic and creative powerhouse from winning Thailand’s first drag competition T-Battle, giving posing tips to the contestants of The Face Thailand Season 3, hosting gay nights at Maggie Choo’s and, not to mention, countless TV appearances.

» Surachai "Pui" Saengsuwan, L'Officiel Thailand's fashion editor and photographer, is known for his work in various Thai fashion magazines as well as reality competition shows such as The Face and The Face Men Thailand. But you may not know that he has been behind the lens of several photography projects to raise awareness around serious causes. He collaborated with Tom Potisit, also a well-known fashion photographer, to create "Anatomy 101" in 2015 to raise awareness on organ donation. In July last year, he created an online campaign for the Pic-A-Pet4Home shelter where he photographed handsome cadets with their canine friends to raise awareness on dog adoption. We talked to him about his latest project for Down Syndrome Hero Thailand (fb.com/downsyndromeherothailand) to de-stigmatise those who are born with the condition.

» Although gay characters in Thai media are no longer unusual, they are still often portrayed as caricatures. YouTube series Gay OK Bangkok, directed by Tichakorn "Jojo" Phukhaotong, breaks these stereotypes by showing the diversity of Thai gay men in a more realistic light. The openly gay Jojo is also the founder and director of Trasher, Bangkok which throws crazy themed parties. The Surat Thani native made his directorial debut earlier this year with the first season of Gay OK Bangkok which he also wrote.
