EVA Air Pioneers Sharkskin Technology for Greener Flights

» Lufthansa Technik AG is proud to announce EVA Air as the first Asian airline to sign up for modifications with its drag-reducing, and hence fuel-saving, AeroSHARK surface technology, jointly developed with BASF. The Taipei-based airline has decided to modify its entire cargo fleet of nine Boeing 777F long-range freighters with the innovative riblet films, covering the aircraft’s fuselage and engine nacelles. With B-16786, the first EVA Air freighter has already undergone this comprehensive modification at the airline’s home base at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Closely guided by Lufthansa Technik, the modification was carried out by EVA Air's affiliate, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. (EGAT). The aircraft is expected to re-enter commercial service in early September.

Pattaya Film Festival 2024 Set to Boost City Status

» Pattaya City is gearing up for the highly anticipated Pattaya Film Festival 2024, an event designed to enhance the city’s tourism appeal and support its ambition to be recognised as a UNESCO City of Film. Through various film-related activities, the festival aims to position Pattaya as a hub for the film industry, aligning with the Pattaya City Development Plan (2023-2027). The city has solidified its commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 12 prominent organisations, including the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand, the Department of Tourism, the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organisation), the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organisation), the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organisation), the Film Archive (Public Organisation), Thammasat University, Burapha University, the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations, the Thai Animation and Computer Graphic Association, and the THACCA-Thailand Creative Culture Agency.

THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2024 Sets New Global Benchmarks

» The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand (TCC), The Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse (KM), are set to host THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2024, the largest and most comprehensive food and beverage trade show in Asia, from 28th May to 1st June 2024 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. Under the concept of “Beyond Food Experience”, the event will transcend a mere food trade show. It will provide a platform for food and beverage businesses, retailers, supermarkets, department stores, hotels, hypermarkets, restaurants, and those seeking partnerships and business negotiations, to connect with leading Thai and international companies. Participants will stay updated on the latest product trends and consumer demands to enhance business success. Business negotiations will take place over five days, and the general public will be allowed to visit and purchase products on the final day of the event.

"Maritime Spirits": Southeast Asia Meets Venice

» The Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) Foundation presents The Spirits of Maritime Crossing, a group exhibition by artists from Southeast Asia examining the themes of displacement, diaspora, and colonialism through the lens of the ocean curated by Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda, Artistic Director of Bangkok Art Biennale.
