» 1. Another Italian talent is dropping by Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit's The Living Room to wow audiences with his world-class Jazz. For only one night, on Oct 19, Nicola Tariello Quintet will be performing three sets from his "Sotto Le Stelle Del Jazz" -- "Under The Stars Of Jazz" -- project, an evocative interpretation of Paolo Conte's work under the same name. Tariello, a renowned trumpet player, will be exploring jazz from the 1920s all the way to his very own original arrangements. The Nicola Tariello Quintet will play three 45-minute sets at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm. An entertainment fee of 300 baht will be applied, except to guests spending at least 1,000 baht per person at any of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit's dining venues.

» 1. Art lovers shouldn't miss out on The Commons Art Weekend event today and tomorrow at Thong Lor 17. From 12-8pm, more than 10 local artists, including O Terawat, Alex Face, Tuna Dunn, Nakrob Moonmanas and Aeicha, will be gathered together for fans to have a sneak peak at how they bring their pieces to life. There will be interesting workshops, along with the highlight of the event -- "Unblanking The Canvas" whereby all the artists will work on one single canvas to create a unique mixed-media masterpiece. » 1. Freelance photographer and visual storyteller Adam Birkan is back with his third solo photography show in Bangkok. HopeLand, hosted at JAM Cafe Bangkok, will feature Birkan's distant but poetic photos of everyday situations from broken down cars to random soi dogs taken from his apartment window within a period of 18 months. His minimalistic and colourful style gives the everyday a new and interesting perspective. The opening party will be next Saturday from 7pm till midnight. A limited edition HopeLand zine will be for sale for that night only.

Performing at the abandoned aeroplane site, Human explores the progression of time, physical and mental development, origin and destination, and how people experiment with different experiences in a lifetime. » Joan Cornellà's art isn't for the sensitive of heart. Masked in bright colours and empty smiles of his characters, his comics are vile, controversial, politically incorrect and uncomfortable. But to the right kind of person, they're absolutely hilarious.
