» Goodbye Rocket Coffeebar. Hello Siwilai Cafe. Although the swanky spot on the 5th Floor of Central Embassy hasn't exactly shed its skin -- having kept the cool interiors and casual vibe -- it has however, been given a new life in the kitchen.

Lang Suan's saucy secret

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 22/05/2015

» Nestled in Lang Suan sits a bistro with a knack for steak frites. Mind you, this isn't the type of steak and fries you'll find at any old gastropub. With 75 years worth of history behind its legendary Cafe de Paris sauce, Le Boeuf's focus is on serving up the finest entrecote steak in Thailand. The bistro makes full use of its glass facade, decorating it with dainty details such as gold railings and retro lamps. The maroon tablecloths and tight seating is reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. Diners include expats and locals with a craving for the same dish they've tried in Paris and London.

Quite the catch

» Named after one of the strongest and most elusive game fish (and we're sure Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea would second that), the restaurant stands proudly on Phahon Yothin Soi 7. Ari has been a melting pot of small cafes and hip restaurants for a long time. There are some that have stood the test of time like Pla Dib — a decade old and still going strong. What Marlin Cafe offers though, is unique contemporary cuisine that can be enjoyed against the backdrop of industrial-inspired decor, much like an uber-cool Soho restaurant of New York City. Spot celebrities dining with their friends and families in one of the private glass rooms. Expats and young couples are also frequent diners here.
