Thailand BOI Announces New Incentives for Investor Retention, Relocation, Hydrogen Vehicles

» In a follow up to its new five-year strategy released in October, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) announced on 4 November 2022 new incentive packages including, for the first time, a set of special privileges to support expansion by longstanding investors, a comprehensive relocation program covering headquarters as well as research and manufacturing facilities, and a first package for investment in sustainable activities such as the manufacture of hydrogen vehicles and the setup of electric vehicle (EV) battery swapping stations.

» Bangkok - 31 October 2022 –To fulfil its mission to protect the planet, Wall’s Thailand announced that it is the first brand to shift to using 100% electric ice cream trucks in Thailand, celebrating its success in reducing carbon emissions by 76% when compared with using fossil fuels. The company plans to expand its number of EV trucks in 2023, reducing over 322 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

OR teams up with GWM to install EV charging stations under trademark “EV Station PluZ I GWM”

Suchat Ramarch, President, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), and MR.Narong Sritalayon, Managing Director, Great Wall Motor (Thailand) (GWM), participated in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the installation of EV Station PluZ I GWM chargers in potential commercial areas. This is the first time that OR, as an EV charging station provider, and the leading automaker have collaborated to expand Quick Charge stations in potential commercial areas outside of service stations to cover leading department stores, community malls, and hotels, among others. The project will start with pilot installations that are expected to be completely rolled out within the fourth quarter of 2022.
