Bayer unveils New Inspection & Quality Control Building in Phitsanulok

» Phitsanulok, Thailand – Mr. Phusit Somchit, Governor of Phitsanulok Province, and Ms. Chortip Salyapongse, Director of the Plant Protection Research and Development Office (PPRD) at the Department of Agriculture, recently presided over the opening ceremony of Bayer's new Inspection & Quality Control Building for Bayer’s Vegetable and Corn Seed Production in Phitsanulok. The event, held on September 17, 2024, was attended by local government officials, including Ms. Nongyao Korkanruad, Director of BOI Area 7 (Phitsanulok), Ms. Papassorn Wattanakulpakin, Director of the Phitsanulok Seed Research and Development Center, along with Mr. Weraphon Charoenpanit, Country Commercial Lead for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., Bangla Bose, Head of APAC Product Supply, and Mr. Mark Nash, Vegetable Seeds Product Supply Tomato Crop Family Lead, as well as some Bayer employees.

EXIM Thailand Launches First THB Blue Bond

» Dr. Paopoom Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, congratulated Mr. Bundit Sapianchai, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand); Dr. Warotai Kosolpisitkul, Chairman of EXIM Thailand’s Risk Oversight Committee; and Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, EXIM Thailand’s President; along with Mr. Kenichi Yamato, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited (BAY); Ms. Paphakorn Ratanasate, Senior Executive Vice President, Investment and Financial Management Group, Government Savings Bank (GSB); Mr. Kosintr Puongsophol, Financial Sector Specialist, Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB); and representatives of investors and customers of EXIM Thailand at a press conference to announce the notable success of EXIM Thailand’s issue and offering of a Blue Bond, with BAY and GSB as lead underwriters at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office on July 26, 2024.

Saha Group Partners with Quark Biosciences in Biotechnology

» Recently at the Saha Group Fair, Saha Group partnered with Quark Biosciences to jointly enter the biotechnology industry, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the 28th Saha Group Fair held at BITEC Bangna on 27 June 2024. Ms Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation of Thailand, presided over and served as an honorary witness at the signing ceremony. Additionally, Professor Dr Piyamitr Sritara, Chairman of the Executive Board, The National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), was honoured to join as an honorary witness at this MOU signing ceremony.

Saha Group Backs Ramathibodi's Senior Care Initiative

PWA Inspects School Water Quality Nationwide

» The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) has initiated the "United Hearts to Provide Clean Water to Schools Honouring His Majesty the King on the Auspicious Occasion of His 72nd Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2024," by inspecting and analysing the water quality in over 740 schools nationwide. The aim is to promote quality of life and good hygiene through clean drinking water within schools.

Thailand Leads GMS Tourism Collaboration

» Thailand plays a leading role in GMS regional tourism, inviting executives from the National Tourism Promotion Agency and entrepreneurs from over 15 agencies to cooperate in pushing the target number of foreign tourists to the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) to exceed 95 million people by 2025. Senior tourism officials and executives from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar will be special guests of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports at the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) from 5-7 June in Khao Lak, Phang-nga Province. On 5 June 2024, two days before the official opening of TTM+, they will tour Phuket, visiting Ban Bang Rong Community, Phuket Old Town Community, and various facilities promoting Sports and Health Tourism, Gastronomy Tourism, Marine Tourism, and other recreational tourism products.

» IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Thailand Chapter held a press conference announcing the 10th IEEE International Smart Cities Conference under the main theme “Smart Cities: Revolution for Mankind.” The event featured Mr. Wilas Chaloeysat, Chairman of IEEE Power & Energy Society – Thailand and Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), who assigned Mr. Somchai Homklinkaew, Senior Vice Chairman, IEEE Power & Energy Society – Thailand and Deputy Governor, Power System Planning and Innovation at the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), to join with Associate Professor Dr. Nopbhorn Leeprechanon, IEEE PES Vice Chair Meeting and Conference, and Associate Professor Dr. Supavadee Aramvith, Chair of IEEE Thailand Section, in conjunction with Associate Professor Dr. Montri Wiboonrat, Conference Chair of ISC2 2024, and Dr. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Director of MICE Intelligence and Innovation Department and Acting Executive Advisor at the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). The press conference took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
