» If you can't live life with a bare face, you'll know that any beauty queen needs two sets of makeup at any given time: one extensive collection permanently mounted on the vanity and the spark-note version that can fit inside a cute little makeup purse. Street dining made easy

Guru, Mika Apichatsakol, Published on 26/08/2016

» The Setting: Remember the Weasley's deceptively roomy accommodation for the Quidditch World Cup in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? That was the image that popped into mind when we crossed the threshold of The Local Canteen. » Despite the number of athletic jackets already hanging in your closet, from Harley to Diablo to even Captain effin' Boomerang, the character costumes in the latest David Ayer-DC blockbuster made you want more. It's no help either that globally in fashion, this is the season for jackets. Our advice? Just give into the urge. It's not like they can't be put to practical use. A Frame Has No Name

Guru, Mika Apichatsakol, Published on 15/07/2016

» We're not unimpressed by the option of frames and shades spectacle labels have to offer this season. Oh no, not at all. Just the names of all their fabulous products are kind of a downer when getting round to ordering new glasses: "I'd like to get the RX4246V please" or "the SPR 56S". Geez, even typing that felt like accounting. Wouldn't it be added value to the consumer's experience to have more relevant and memorable product names to recite with enthusiasm at checkout? That's why we decided to rechristen some of our favourite designer eyewear from this season. You're welcome.

» Passionate about the field of design and educated abroad extensively, Kompit Panasupon never thought he'd wind up back in Bangkok, much less become a key player in his father's serious business of academia. MAC Education, which started off as a tutoring school in the 70s, has become one of the biggest textbook publishers in the country and is understandably a big responsibility. We visited the busy 31-year-old (and his two cats) to talk about his work and views on education, but in the process, unlocked surprising facts that reveal that he never really quit being a man of the arts.

Hollywood hits home

Guru, Mika Apichatsakol, Published on 18/03/2016

» Hollywood is a truly fascinating global phenomenon. Just take, for instance, The Oscars. Every year, the whole world, so to speak, actively tunes in to ardently agree or disagree with America's ruling on the best factors of American movies.
