» Re: ''Only a American'' BP, Jan 23. I must say that Mr Wong is a Thai who cannot see beyond what is happening in Bangkok. Courage is needed to accept the shortcomings of a culture or a country. In the US, rarely are corrupt senators or members of the House of Representatives convicted and put in jail. Many of them have been involved in the misuse of election funds and have also been accused of taking bribes through lobbyists. But committee members in US Congress look after each other. The accused go through the usual committee hearing and get a warning, not a passage to gallows.
