» Art has been and still is a vital part of our life and history though it has evolved over the years. The Renaissance gave us legendary works of art like Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Michelangelo's David. Fast forward to the present and we still view art regularly albeit in different forms -- now on a 55in. OLed TV. Hey, Netflix movies and shows are still work of art, don't judge. I understand that there is a vast difference between sitting on your couch and going to a gallery or an exhibition. » It's a sad twist of fate that as quarantine restrictions have lifted, the rainy season is upon us. There may be many who want to get out and about, perhaps even the introverts like me may want just a tiny bit of socialising. But don't let the rain dampen your mood. The 2020 Guru awards

» We know it's the last day of January -- and if you weren't aware, it's February tomorrow -- but as a tweet said, we'll consider January the free-trial period and start 2020 properly on the first day of February. A bunch of stuff has already happened, not all of them good, but before we move ahead and put the past behind us, Guru would like to take one last look at the year that was. "The Guru Awards" have been held for the past two years but so much has happened that we decided it would be best to do a full feature in 2019 instead of just a few paragraphs in the Editor's Note. Seeing that the Academy Awards are also coming up, we couldn't think of a better time to give out our snarky, passive-aggressive accolades. So, ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to welcome you the 2020 Guru Awards -- no monologues, no opening numbers from Neil Patrick Harris. Just pure unadulterated cynicism.

They want to spread the word about roller derby and have more people involved so they can eventually set up Team Thailand officially. How do you join? What's roller derby? How does it work? » Pancakes are a breakfast favourite for a lot of people and they're just hands-down pretty dang delicious and awesome (if you're a pancake hater... uh, why?). But aside from that, they've also become a starting point for friendships and bonds to be made thanks to Robin Vogelaar. For the past few years, Vogelaar has travelled around the world and hosted events in different countries with a simple premise: he cooks Dutch pancakes, people meet up and eat, and have a good time. It's a simple thing yet it has gotten the attention of others that Vogelaar was able to take the TEDx stage at Abidjian, Côte d'Ivoire. On November 24, he's bringing the Dutch Pancake Party to the Big Mango. Guru spoke to him on everything pancake party.
