Most existing restaurants adapted by offering delivery or a private chef experience in the comfort of your home, while others shut shop temporarily, a few permanently. Though the pandemic brought along unknown problems for existing restaurants, it hasn't deterred a few others from starting afresh. » Chef Purida "Pu" Theeraphong is probably best known for being the first female chef to win Iron Chef Thailand 2012. Since then she has been executive chef at many five-star establishments in Bangkok, her most recent position being executive chef and head of the creative kitchen at Osha. Chef Pu has more than two decades of experience in the culinary industry, having honed her skills in Australia and Bangkok. Now, she takes her knowledge, skills and passion for Thai cuisine and food design and has decided to keep tradition alive by opening Old Town Thai Cooking Studio. Guru speaks to chef Pu about her month-old cooking studio and why she chose this over opening a restaurant.

» Despite the Lion City numerous city hotels it is always hard finding the perfect one. And by that I mean -- close to an MRT, close to good restaurants and close to a bit of street culture. Though Little India fits this description, I find it a tad too crowded. Enter Sofitel Singapore City Centre, a luxurious urban oasis in the city's central business district. Right above Tanjong Pagar MRT station, the location is ideal for discovering Singapore's sights, sounds and attractions.
